Incline Therapeutics on Ops A La Carte's Design Review. In addition to the high quality of work output, I also want to thank your team for completing your work independently, requiring little in the way of direction other than our development documents. Because of this we were able to focus on other activities while still securing the independent review we needed.
-- John Lemke, Director of Engineering, Incline Therapeutics

Minnetronix Comments on Ops Seminar at MD&M MN In short ... Excellent. I've attended a few seminars on HALT and other reliability seminars. Most of the presenters speak from the same book – very repetitive information. You had some really interesting and unique insight on reliability testing (HALT and ALT). You address many of the complex situations that people run into when trying to implement these tests. Often I've used the analogy of watching HGTV and running out the next weekend to put an addition on your house. It was very refreshing to hear some of your commentary on difficult applications and the solutions you have provided. Many of these other seminars, when you ask about complex situations the speakers' eyes glaze over. Then they typically revert to some high-level response, which usually means nothing. As you stated, some of the material can be dry, but your presentations are highly informative, engaging and exciting.

HP Comments on our ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Class ... I wish to thank you very much for the outstanding job you did over the past couple months. I've learned a lot from yourself through the course. I also appreciate all the hints & advice, the extra efforts/times through the e-mail exchanges, the long hours of instruction and patience from 6-10pm, and of course the genuine caring for your students.

Enecsys Endorses HALT Calculator. Enecsys has adopted the Ops A La Carte AFR calculation technique as it is impractical to conduct MTBF demonstration tests on highly reliable products such as solar micro inverters. Furthermore, using an MTBF number in isolation fails to provide any meaningful product life metrics. The Enecsys reliability engineering process is one that integrates multiple test and analysis approaches, of which the AFR calculator represents a component part, placing Enecsys in the unique position of being able to present AFR metrics to the solar industry. We have found this technique to be easy to use, and because it takes into account the significant HALT margins that we have achieved, we are satisfied that it delivers accurate and meaningful results. Enecsys plans to continue using the AFR calculator on future products, and embracing this technique underlines Enecsys' commitment to continuously improving micro inverter reliability while being positioned firmly at the forefront of micro inverter reliability engineering technology.

"I would like to thank you on behalf of our team. The HALT testing was very fruitful, and we found some simple problems that would have certainly been field failures. Mike was great in the initial planning stages and explanation of HALT theory (2X I might add). Doug carried out testing in a professional and responsible manner and was extremely helpful during testing with suggestions, test setup/implementation, and the extended evaluation, which was not even in the test plan but was performed without hesitation. The redesign work has already begun. I hope your chamber can handle the new products. We look forward to working with you again."

"IceCube is a kilometer-scale deep-ice neutrino observatory under construction at the South Pole. The electronics is required to perform reliably for 15 years. Maintenance and replacement are not options. Reliability and schedule are major considerations along with cost and performance. We concluded that the standard reliability models and testing are of limited relevance to the IceCube environment. We asked Mike Silverman, Ops A La Carte managing partner, for assistance. Mike and his team came through for us. They worked with us to develop a testing program based on HALT and HASS to effectively assess low-temperature operation capability and screen the boards for assembly and component defects. They then facilitated and supported the HALT and HASS testing effort. It was quicker and more efficient than we had expected. The boards for the first four strings have been delivered. We are looking forward to working with them through completion of the project."
-- Ed Kujawski Ph.D., Senior Reliability/Systems Staff, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
"As a supplier of capital equipment to the semiconductor industry, the dependability of our test solutions is paramount. "Mike's seminars taught through Hobbs Engineering have always received excellent reviews. He and I have co-taught our respective seminars in Germany and Mike is fully prepared to teach my HALT and HASS seminar himself. As business picks up and I am unable to meet the demand, Mike is the chosen instructor.
When I get phone calls on some aspect of reliability beyond my skill set, I refer the person to Mike for information or further referral. I highly recommend Mike and Ops A La Carte for any situation. If they can not solve the problem, then they will find someone who can."
-- Gregg K. Hobbs, Ph.D. P.E., President of Hobbs Engineering Corporation,
President of HALT and HASS Systems Corporation and the originator of HALT and HASS.
"We were looking for a knowledgeable person/company to come in and give a two-day seminar to train our Reliability Engineers on the basics of HALT/HASS and Reliability Integration. Ops A La Carte provided exactly what we asked for in a very professional manner, and they were open to modifying the presentation based on our Company's specific needs. Our engineers gave positive feedback on the seminar and stated that they now have the knowledge, and are comfortable with going out and performing HALT on our products. We would refer Ops A La Carte to other companies and may bring them back for periodic refresher training."
-- Mike Zimmermann, Senior Reliability Engineer, Rockwell Collins
