Spring 2011

Welcome to our Spring 2011 Newsletter Summary

Perhaps the most important milestone of the past few months is the release of "How Reliable Is Your Product: 50 Ways to Improve Your Product Reliability". Mike wrote this book reflected on the past 10 years of his experience with reliability. We are all very pleased with the book and of the great reviews we are getting from reputable reliability magazines such as PCB News review, ECN Magazine review, SMT Magazine review and Amazon.com review.

The first three chapters of the book can be reviewed without charge and the book is available for purchase from SuperStar Press or Amazon.com.

We have had a busy winter season. Mike Silverman visited Chroma in Taiwan, Sinorel in China, and Toyo Corporation in Japan. Mike had 42 top Japanese engineers attend a one day seminar on HALT Integreated into a Reliability Program. It went over very well and the entire trip was a huge success.

We have a milestone birthay rapidly approaching when on May 1st we will turn 10 years old! We have grown from an idea into a global consulting firm with customers in over 30 countries and over 100 industries. We can't be happier with reaching this time and thank all of our clients for helping us to achieve what we have, and the privilege of helping all of you.

We were also at RAMS this winter and are proud to say our consultants gave a record number of presentations.

Looking forward we have a lot to offer you this coming quarter. One great effort on our part is our Free Webinars which will be held on the first Wednesday of each month. The first three will be focused on Solar Reliability, DfSS and Prognostics.

Reliability and Safety Workshop, Greenwich London UK - April 14, 2011
Safety and reliability are essentially emergent properties of a product, process, system or undertaking. Safety as a duty of care placed on all purveyors of products and services is regulated by law, whereas reliability has been regulated by the market it is no longer solely a commercial choice. Consequently, there are many synergies between the two domains that had been viewed as separate disciplines. This joint workshop will explore the common grounds between these two essential properties with the help of industrial and academic experts and aim to provide systemic insights into an integrated approach.
